The sun is going down in NYC, lights flicker to life, the partiers come out, and other creatures of the night. I opened my eyes and glanced over at the clock on the wall. "9:48." I said to myself. "Almost time to play a little game!" Rolling off of the couch I laughed and grabbed my mask off of the table. "Now let's see, what will it be to drink tonight?" I pulled open the fridge and glanced at the contents inside. A few sodas and water bottles for Kai, assorted microwave meals, and a couple bottles of wine. I grabbed a bottle of red wine and the only not broken wine glass out of the cabinet. Walking over to the front door I opened it and extended my claws. Quickly climbing up the side of the building I reached the roof. "Nothing like watching people and drinking wine before a good game." I said aloud and ripped out the cork with my claws. On the road below cars roared down the road like ants escaping a monster. Faint music drifted up on the air from the nearby club. I stood up and walked over to the edge of the roof and peered down to look for any potential players.
Almost everybody was in small groups of three or four at this time of night. Shrugging I took one last sip of wine and dropped the half empty bottle onto a passing group of people. It hit one of the young girls on the head, shattering into shrapnel. The girl fell to the ground either dead or unconscious. There were two guys and one more girl. All of them had small shards of glass stuck in their clothing but none seemed to have penetrated the skin. The girl who I assumed was the dead/unconscious woman's friend knelt down and shook her body. Both of the men looked upward and I stood up on the railing, still holding my empty glass. They pointed at me frantically and I smiled and waved at them. The taller man began to dig around in his pockets, probably looking for his phone. “I wouldn’t call anybody if I were you!” I yelled down at them. The man glared at me and flipped me off. “Alright, if you want to play let’s play then!” I shouted. Extending my claws I jumped off the side of the building. Quickly I grabbed the side of the building and stopped my fall. “What the hell is that bastard doing?!” One of the men screamed. I smiled and let go of the building again. After a few seconds I was about eight feet off of the ground. Standing up on a window ledge I turned to face the group. The girl that had been hit with the bottle was obviously dead, there was several glass shards sticking out of her head and neck that were still oozing blood. The other girl was sitting next to the body crying. One man was trying to comfort her while the other was messing with his phone, probably trying to take a picture.
“First rule, no phones!” I said and lunged at the man with the phone. Startled he stumbled backward and dropped his phone. Swiftly I picked it up and broke off the top, turning it into a dagger of sorts. “Darts anybody?” I asked in Japanese. Both of the men looked up at me in confused terror and I hurled the phone at the original owner. It struck him in the chest and just missed his heart. “Shame. So close to a bull’s-eye.” The man pulled the phone out of his chest and instantly blood poured rapidly from the wound. “Idiot.” I muttered under my breath in Japanese. Slowly I walked toward the impaled man who was now sitting on the ground with his hand over the gaping wound. “You are just no good at this. Boring.” I said calmly and raked my claws across his face. The man slumped down, he would be dead within a minute from blood loss.
The remaining man pulled out his phone but quickly put it away when I smiled and held a claw to my throat. “Is she dead?” I asked. “W-what?” The girl stammered. “I said, is she dead?” “Y-yes, she’s dead.” I nodded and turned to face the man. Walking right up to him until I was a few inches from his face. “What should I do with you?” I asked in Japanese. The man’s face turned into one of sheer terror and confusion. “I could just kill you and be done, but that’s no fun!” I said loudly. Suddenly the man reached up and grabbed my mask, trying to pull it off. “Bastard!” I roared and kicked him in the chest, sending him flying backwards a few feet. Grinning wickedly I jumped on top of his chest. The breath was smashed out of him and he closed his eyes. “Open your eyes!” I barked. He obeyed and I shot out my arm to grab his wrist. I dug my claws into his skin, the man’s face turned into a silent scream. Swiftly I snapped his wrist and stood up. “You’re lucky I was in a good mood.” I snarled. My claws stuck out from my boots and I pressed it against his throat; scraping the claws against his chin. “You’re going to die alone on a street, bleeding out.” I said bitterly and raked the claws on my foot across his chest. Turning around I saw the girl curled up in a ball beside her friend. I walked over and sat down next to her. She looked up and looked at me scared. “I like you.” I started quietly. “Do you want to go be with your friend?” I asked. She nodded scared and stuck out her neck. I smiled sadly and slashed her neck open, killing her instantly. “Shame, that could’ve been a good game.” I muttered under my breath. Sirens started up somewhere close and I tensed up, preparing for a fight.
